Builders and Insulators

Once again we entered only one build this year and came away with Silver for the Carters 1 million - 2 million category.

Here is the review from the HOY magazine:

Classic forms and contemporary comforts come together in this marvellous manor.  Gazing over rolling hills and farmland near Gore, the beautiful country home serves up a generous 390sqm of  modern family living.  Ample decks set the scene for alfresco entertaining amid the stunning scenery.  Inspired by the luxurious spaces and a brilliant boomerang layout guests are sure to come right back.

A welcoming entrance leads to functional living areas and warm, northfacing bedrooms.  The master delivers breathtaking views, plus an ensuite, large walk-in wardrobe and access to a timber deck.  A practical laundry leads onto a scrub room and a double garage designed for this farming family.

The kitchen features a split-level central island where kids can snack and play.  A blackboard feature wall lets little ones get creative while adults keep track of to-dos. State-of-the-art appliances and a walk-in pantry make this an entertainer's dream space.  A large open fire blesses the living-dining area with warmth and a snug lounge with views closes off to the west.

We entered only one build for 2016 and came away with Silver for the Carters 1 million - 2 million category.

Nestled at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, this custom-built Waikiwi pad was designed for the discerning bachelor. Its solid contruction creates a strong first impression. Climate and lifestyle were driving forces behind the design, hense the warm and spacious interor. It's just as suited to solo enjoyment as it is to socialising. Large windows soak up the north-facing aspect, promising all-day sun in the open plan living area. Heavy-duty insulation holds onto heat in winter. Easy indoor-outdoor flow ensures a smooth transition between spaces - ideal for summer soirees. The large master suite, one of four bedrooms, is equipped with a dressing room and an ensuite. Here, floor to ceiling tiles and walk in glass shower are guaranteed to impress. A well equipped second bathroom serves visitors and overnight guests. the man cave acts as as sidekick to the huge three-car garage, complete with hoist. It's the whole package, with the bonus of low maintenance grounds.

We are proud to annouce our apprentice, Matthew Keenan, took out second place at the Southland Apprentice of the Year 2014 Awards.

The Registered Master Builders Apprentice of the Year, in association with Carters, aims to recognise excellence among carpentry apprentices and
raise awareness of career opportunities in the building and construction industry. It’s a competition that looks to test several aspects of a well-rounded
apprentice, not just their skills on the tools.

We are proud to support the local community and have recently completed a School Bus Shelter for the children in the local Waianiwa Community fully donated by BJ Carter Builders and Insulators.
